My name is Valeria Burtseva, nickname Valeria ILS. I am a leading specialist on the Seychelles Islands. I have been working with this destination since 2008. My path in the travel industry began in 2002. I started like a courier, then it led to me becoming a travel manager, a sales manager, a senior manager, then the leading specialist and finally CEO of the project and brand – I like Seychelles.

I have worked in different companies – starting with small travel agencies to corporate groups. I have a higher education in tourism and I am getting now a degree in journalism.

So far, I have visited many different countries: Turkey, Poland, Egypt, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the Seychelles Islands, also South Africa, Mauritius and Maldives. But the Seychelles has become something special to me.

I have visited the Seychelles more than 11 times (at the time of 2019): as a leader of the group with the educational visits for travel agents, with individual tours and on vacations. By the way, when I went as a tourist, I understood how much I did not know. I saw the other side of my work. It was amusing and sad at the same time.

Travel mistakes that may happen and how to avoid them I will be describing on pages of this site. There is useful information in all sections.

In total, I was in more than 40 resorts, hotels, apartments, guest houses, self-caterings in Seychelles. Every year I visited the main resorts and hotels, and I saw how they changed. In some hotels I was only once so that I could understand whether they were good enough to sell tours to.

I have traveled around a lot of places in Seychelles, and I am planning to visit more. I have tried a variety of dishes from local cuisine. I plunged both into the life of its residents and the inside life of the hotels. Many interesting things can be discovered just by talking with the hotel staff or a local resident. I genuinely like to get into the details, catch something interesting!

Amazing nature, unhurried life, calm and serenity – all of that overflows the holiday maker within the first minutes. One would not want to hurry anywhere or get busy with anything besides his or her recreation. Untrodden ways, everywhere there is an amazing feeling – there is no one around. In our crowded world it is a rarity. Only in Seychelles one can really relax and will return completely renewed, ready for new accomplishments.

I am learning about this country all the time. At first it was for the work, then for the sake of business and investments. It is both easy and difficult to sell tours to this country at the same time. After more than 12 years of sales I keep on finding new information and possibilities of Seychelles. Because it is developing and changing. I was surprised to find out during my last trip to Seychelles how many good changes have happened there. I have written about it on the pages of this site too.

In my work, I experienced the challenges that agents face when sell tours to this country. It is not easy without knowing the specifics of the destination. There is a lot of information on the Internet now, that is often incorrect. And it is impossible to get a full professional advice. Thus, I decided to share my professional knowledge with everybody. In particular, while I am still in the tourism industry.

It is especially important for me to help both agents and tourists to make a choice and avoid mistakes, because the incorrect choice of the location, leisure and hotel, will bring a negative impression of the country.

Seychelles destination is certainly a complex and specific one and has its own rules. Everything is very individual – hotels, places, impressions, etc.
